New Native Animals of Ireland trail at Inish Beg Estate

A new Native Animals of Ireland trail, which opened this Easter weekend at Inish Beg Estate, Baltimore, is ready to be explored. Wind along a path through the trees to spot and name the 10 native species and claim your reward. This addition to the already popular fairy house trail and pirate trail adds another fun and educational dimension to your day out at Inish Beg.

Inish Beg Estate is a magical 97-acre private island escape, consisting of gardens and woodland walks and accommodation. There are ten properties to rent for holidays, weddings and other notable family events. Over 7km of walks through the estate incorporate ponds, river views, woodland gardens and an abundance of beautiful trees. You may even spot a few of the animals from our new trail.

Paul and Georgiana Keane acquired Inish Beg Estate in 1997 and have spent the past 20 years in a major restoration of the grounds, bringing them back to an award-winning status. All aspects of the estate are organic – gardens, woodland and farm.

For gardening enthusiasts, on the first Thursday of each month visitors can meet the head gardener who will be talking on the priorities of the month ahead.

The gardens and trails are open every day except when private functions are being held.

Entrance to the gardens and trails costs €6 per adult with up to two accompanying children.  Additional children – €2.
