New Lisheens House Furniture Store

The Clonakilty branch of Lisheens House Furniture Store has been open just shy on one month now but has already received great support local people, for which the organisers are extremely grateful.

“The new store opened on October 10 to coincide with World Mental Health Day,” says Lisheens House founder Noreen Murphy. “We are overwhelmed with the amount of well wishes and support we have received. It’s been really busy and we have received lovely comments on, not alone the quality of the furniture and the layout of the shop, but also that it was great to see the old railway building being restored and back in use.

“It is thanks to the ongoing support from the local community that we can continue to grow and expand our services and mental health awareness events.”

One such event is a free QPR Suicide Prevention Training in the Quality Hotel Clonakilty on Thursday November 21 at 6.30pm. Places on the training can be booked by calling 028 51950 or click on www.lisheenshouse.ie/training.

Lisheens House are also holding a free workshop on living and coping with stress on Wednesday November 20 at its Centre in Skibbereen – more details can be found on the website and Facebook page.

If you have any items you wish to donate to Lisheens House please call 086 4066348 to arrange collection. The store is located just past Clonakilty Garda Station on McCurtain Hill.
